KEG apartment recycles cargo trucks for sustainable housing
While the latest means of transportation have made commutation and shipping safe and fast, they have left old cargo trucks to breathe their last as well. Recycling cargo vehicles, designer Aristide Antonas has come up with a smart and sustainable housing named the “KEG apartment” that accommodates its inhabitants in comfort. Ideal for modern nomads, the new housing allows adequate space to live in comfort. If you want more stable units, the keg wagons can be detached from their cars, so they could be placed in a suitable location for a certain period. Carving a big window, using an enforced circular frame, in the cylinder towards the car’s side, the new apartment allows a wide view and harnesses natural light during the day, reducing the carbon footprint of the residents.
